Three seek Palouse title

Palouse Chamber of Commerce scheduled judging of candidates for Palouse Days Royalty for Wednesday in the home economics room of the high school. The presentation portion, which was open to the public, was followed by the judge's interviews. Candidates Maddie Woltering, Kristen Nelson, and Suzanne Keller will present their "Dream Project" for Palouse.

The Queen will be announced at the end of the Palouse Days Parade in September.

Garfield library begins school mode

Garfield Library will begin school year programs starting with Storytime Sept. 2, at 1:30 p.m. During this hour-long program, children and their families can listen to book readings, sing songs, learn about many things, and get involved in a variety of themed crafts.

During the first adult evening craft session, which will be the second Monday of each month, clay pots; paints, and other supplies will be provided. This will be Sept. 14, at 6:30 Tea and a snack will be provided.

Summer Reading program of “Be Creative at Your Library” had 25 participants with 19 completing their reading goals. Helping make the program a success was $323 in donations from Garfield businesses and individuals.

WSU Museum of Art will display its bi-annual fine arts faculty exhibition Aug. 27 to Sept. 26. Gallery hours are 10 to 4 Monday through Saturday.

University of Idaho's Prichard gallery in downtown Moscow will present the work of Mark Klett and Peter Vincent, two photographers who have produced extensive work focus on the American West. Klett traces the influences of human interaction with the environment, and Vincent has a particular interest in car culture and its expression at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Aug. 19-Oct. 11.
