Palouse Council sets time limit on public comment

Palouse city council now has a plan to limit citizen comment to three minutes during its open forums at city meetings.

For the past several meetings, citizens Steve McGehee and Dixie Reiber have asked questions to the council that drew out the open forum session too long, say Palouse council members.

“Some have been far more active in the bullying and aggressive in their behavior toward the council,” said councilman Mike Milano.

Resident Jon Fleischman caught the last few seconds of the announcement and later said he thought three minutes may be too short, but understood their concerns.
