Lamont

A community potluck will be at the Lamont Community Center Sunday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. Because of different holidays, the potluck dates this year are a little different. They are Oct. 4, Dec. 6 and Jan. 1.

Rosie Melville celebrated her ninth birthday Friday, Aug. 21, at the St. John Park. Rosie is the daughter of Burke and Liz Melville and will be in fourth grade when the Lamont school starts Wednesday. Present at the party were Zeth and Zane Swanger, Emily Boutain, Alanna Aweson, and Alex Wheeler, Jacklyn Byrd, and Hannah and Laney Brittain. The group enjoyed hot dogs, ice cream and birthday cake before doing some craft projects and swimming in the St. John pool.

On Sunday, Bill and Bonnie Swannack went to St. Maries to watch their granddaughter, Tommie Sue Swannack, take part in the rodeo there. She topped goat tying competition in her age group.

Bill, Stella and Dean Melville attended the annual Cougar Sports banquet at the Mirabeau Park Hotel Thursday. All the coaches for the fall sports were there and gave reports on the prospects for the fall season.
