Bells take toll on Snake River sturgeon

Rob Bell of Colfax and his son, Sean, pose with an eight-foot sturgeon they caught recently on the Snake River below Lower Granite Dam. The Bells are one of the most prolific sturgeon-catching families in Whitman County, as Rob and dad Bob Bell also of Colfax, regularly drop their lines in the river. On this trip, Sean helped reel in the sturgeon, and Bob Bell’s son, Bryson, pulled in a 49-inch sturgeon.
