Shannon Roe will staff Malden library

Whitman County Library is making changes at the Malden Library branch in an effort to improve service. Beginning Sept. 7 the library will be open Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7:30.

Malden resident Shannon Roe has been hired as the new branch manager.

“It is time for the Malden branch to develop into a real community library instead of an outreach program from other branches. Shannon has school library experience and a great feel for the needs of the community,” Library Director Kristie Kirkpatrick said.

Evening Storytimes, adult and teen craft night sessions are in the planning stages.
