Students plant trees for Colfax Arbor Day

Second graders Nichole Jarosch, top, and Kealen Hines, below, shovel dirt onto a pair of ironwood trees in Schmuck Park Tuesday morning. Councilmember Jeanette Solimine proclaimed Sept. 22 Colfax Arbor Day on behalf of Mayor Norma Becker. Students in the classes of Peggy Kehne and Wendy Hickman planted the trees, which they named “Tiger” and “Bear.”
