Jess Arlint, a 2003 St. John/Endicott graduate, and her husband, Josh, Belgrade, Mont., have enrolled in a foster parent program. She is the daughter of Randy and Carla Root of Endicott.

They decided to enroll after learning she has a condition which makes it difficult to have children. They completed a foster parenting class June 28, and were contacted the next day for an emergency placement needed for two brothers, one three and a half and the other 19 months. They put the boys on a strict routine.

“When we first got them their tantrums verged on the ridiculous but they’ve really tamed down. Probably the biggest challenge we have is the oldest, a non-verbal autistic. But we’ve been able to fully potty train him.”
