Tigercats celebrate homecoming

Homecoming week is this week for the LW Tigercats and the halls are decorated in accordance with the theme “Around the World.” The homecoming volleyball match will be Thursday at 6 p.m. in LaCrosse against Lind-Ritzville, and the homecoming football game will be in Washtunca at 7 p.m. with Valley Christian.

Any LaCrosse, Washtucna or Kahlotus grad wearing their letterman coat, sweater or identifying themselves as an alumni, will be admitted free to the homecoming games.

The homecoming royalty includes freshman Justin Wargo and Chelsie Kneale, sophomores Taylor Martin and Casey Martin, juniors John Cruz and Hillary Bennett and seniors Sergio Mansilla and Della Fleming. The WSU marching band will perform at the football game and donations to cover their transportation would be appreciated.

LaCrosse will celebrate Fall with Oktoberfest Saturday, Oct. 3, The day will begin with family fun at the Mud Boggin.

Parking will be $5 a car and all proceeds will benefit the Richard L. Roberts Scholarship. Evening brings a bratwurst dinner at the TeaPot Cafe sponsored by the Arts Council. Dinner is $15 with the first sitting from 5 to 7 p.m. and a second sitting from 7 to 9 p.m. The Arts Council requests dinner tickets be obtained ahead of time and can be purchased from any Arts Council member.

Brady Noah Barry, son of John and Tricia Barry, Snoqualmie, was baptized Sunday at Selbu Lutheran Church by Pastor Dennis Bay. The sponsors were April and Zachary Cooper, Colfax; Noah and Angie Barry, Snoqualmie.

Among those attending were Brady's grandparents, Greg and Sharon Schlomer, LaCrosse; Jack Barry and Sara Sayles, Issaquah; great-grandmothers Joyce Camp and Dorothy Schlomer both of LaCrosse. Also attending and joining the family for a lunch were Jon and Arlene Gordon, Amy Gordon, Bob and Connie Dorman, Michael Dorman, Pastor Dennis and Marion Bay, all of LaCrosse; Brad, Katie, Ashley and Avery Boswell, Liberty Lake; Mildred Heilsberg, Teri Heilsberg, Megan Doering and Bryan Mackleit, Colfax.
