Birthday balloon

A hot air balloon lands at the LaCrosse Airport after taking Laurie Zimmer for a surprise flight last Tuesday, Sept. 22. Laurie, husband Keith and daughters Nicole Flansburg and Rochelle Wigen flew from the Zimmer farm to the airport to mark Laurie’s birthday. The family was slated to fly in Spokane the weekend before, but that flight was cancelled because of poor weather. The family then had Avian Balloon Corp. of Spokane bring the balloon down to LaCrosse.
