Allen and Diane Cook attended the Garden Springs School/Community Reunion Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Windsor Grange Hall. Later in the day, the Cooks drove to Wallace, had dinner at the Jamison Hotel and stayed at the Old Brooks Hotel. They then drove towards Murray and returned home via Rockford and Spokane Valley Sunday evening.
A community potluck at the Lamont Community Center will be Sunday, Oct. 4 with all encouraged to attend.
Charlotte and Willard Bowen, who have been residing at Community Pride in St. John for several months, returned to their farm home recently to pick up a few needed items. Then they celebrated Willard’s birthday at the Golden Corral in Spokane. They were accompanied by their son, Bill. Charlotte is slowly recuperating from a fall at her home. She receives therapy on her neck and arm at Community Pride during the week.
News from last week:
Evelyn and Henry Shields celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 18. . At present, Evelyn is at Manor Care Health Services in Spokane. She is slowly getting her strength back by doing many exercises each day. At this writing, she is able to take a few steps.
Saturday, Aaron and Sarah Stromberger of Spokane and Jason Synder of Washtucna were luncheon guests at the home of Dan and Jean Stromberger. After watching some football on TV and playing some card games, Bill and Janet Stromberger of Edwall arrived. They celebrated Bill’s birthday with cake, presents and visiting before the group returned to their homes.
Diane Cook recently traveled to Tacoma and was overnight guest of Paula Cook. On Saturday evening, they joined Dave and Nancy (Cook) Klonz for a drive to Longview to attend a meeting. On Sunday, Diane and Paula met Rob and Tracye Cook in Federal Way for lunch. Then they followed the Rob Cook’s to Puyallup to visit Diane’s grand daughter, Ashley and her husband, Rob Swigert. Diane returned home Sunday evening.
