DRAMADracula will haunt the stage of WSU’s Jones Theater in Daggy Hall Oct. 22-24 and 29-31 at 7:30 p.m. Students Jason Keene of Camas and Syleanna Campbell of Auburn play the lead roles of Count Dracula and Mina. The production may not be suitable for young children and those with sensitive constitutions. Tickets cost $15 general admission, $10 for age 65 and over and for WSU students, $5 for age 17 and younger. Daggy Hall box office is open 2-5:20 p.m. Tuesday-Friday the weeks of performance and an hour before curtain time.

Craig Whitcomb shares his technique and artwork for Meet the Artist on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Colfax Library. Whitcomb is a talented painter who is known for his sense of humor and experiences traveling the world. Sponsored by the Colfax Arts Council and Friends of the WCL, this event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

The Colfax Library will be open from 9-5 on Saturday, Oct. 3 in celebration of Colfax Hullabaloo.

Whitman County Library recently added a CD from John Elwood called Retrospective, 1988-2005. Contact the library to reserve a copy. Elwood and his wife, Sally Burkhart, who reside in Elberton, have played for community events for more than 30 years. Elwood’s CD represents a selection of his writings that have been re-mastered from cassettes and mini-disc recordings of radio broadcasts, living-room recordings of new instruments or family gatherings, and live concerts.

Children’s Storytime programs are each Thursday at the Colfax Library with Baby Time for ages 0-2 years from 10:10-10:30, Toddler Time for ages 2-3 from 10:30-11:00 and Preschool Time for ages 4 and up from 11-11:30.

Colfax Library Third Thursday will celebrate the month with a Fall Fun program for kids in grades 1-4, Oct. 15 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to a family pumpkin decorating party Oct. 28 from 3:30-4:30.
