The Rockets Class at Garfield Palouse Middle School enjoyed a perfect sunny, windless day for launch on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The class spent the first couple of weeks of school learning about flight, designing vehicles propelled by balloons and building a rocket from a kit. On Tuesday, they fired off their creations one at a time to a shouted class countdown for launch. The next endeavor for the students includes designing and constructing a rocket from common household items.
