ROSALIA
A “raise the roof” benefit concert for the Rosalia Performing Arts Center, the former Christian Church building, will be Saturday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m. The Wide River Band of Spokane will perform traditional and contemporary bluegrass influenced by blues, swing, jazz, a bit of 1960s and 1970s rock and a touch of old time honkytonk country.
The center will also have another open mic session beginning at noon Oct. 23 during the Rosalia Harvest Festival. The open mic sessions will be followed by a concert at 2 p.m. by Aaron Castilla, champion fiddler from Spokane who performed last week at the fair in Rockford.
The city is in the process of taking bids for replacing the roof on the arts center. The roof last year sustained some damage from leaks around the steeple area.
Rosalia High School’s Future Business Leaders of America is selling their entertainment coupon book which offers a variety of discounts are restaurants and entertainment outlets. The booklets are available at the school and from Mike Day at the Texaco station.
