Finch appointment delayed again

Rick Finch of Pullman had his appointment to the Whitman County’s Board of Adjustment delayed again by county commissioners Monday. Finch’s term is now slated to begin Nov. 1.

Finch, who currently serves on the county’s planning commission, was originally appointed to the board in June.

Commissioners then delayed the start of his term until October because they wanted Finch to stay on the planning commission until it finished with the commercial wind ordinance.

Since the planning commission has yet to pass on that ordinance, commissioners pushed Finch’s Board of Adjustment date back another month. The planning commission was slated to decide on the ordinance Wednesday night, Oct. 7.

Finch has served on the planning commission since 2006. He will serve out the final four years of Patsy Prince’s term on the Board of Adjustment. Prince, Thornton, resigned from the board earlier this year.
