Construction to halt leaking of Uniontown’s three wastewater lagoons should begin by next spring, according to the consulting engineer working on the project.
Plans for the repair of the lagoons, which have been leaking about 17,000 to 22,000 gallons per day are currently under review for approval by the state Department of Ecology (DOE).
If they approve the plans, the project will go to bid in December and construction should start next March or April, according to Andy Tom, a consulting engineer with James A. Sewell and Associates, the company working with the DOE on the Uniontown project.
