Sean Adam Lee, 25, the Lewiston resident who deputies last August found tied up and sitting on Main Street in LaCrosse after he attempted to take a wallet, was sentenced to a year and one day in jail Friday after he pleaded to a reduced charge of second-degree burglary and assault. Lee will be sent to a state detention facility and will be credited with 65 days spent in jail here pending resolution of the case.
Lee was initially charged with first degree robbery. Normal sentence for a second degree burglary conviction, depending on the defendant’s record, is three months.
Lee was arrested after he appeared at the residence of Larry Garrett Aug. 7 and asked for money to purchase gas. Deputies said Garrett took a charge card out of his wallet and had his cousin, Lowell Garrett, take the card and a gas can to get gas at the LaCrosse cardtrol station. When Larry Garrett went back in his house he discovered his wallet was missing. That led to a confrontation in which Lee went to his car, threw in Garrett’s wallet and attempted to drive away.
The Garretts, a brother, Steve Garrett, and Judy Sandy of LaCrosse, pulled Lee out of his car, tied him up with rope and pull ties and left him in the street. The deputy’s report said Sandy sat on Lee while the Garretts tied him up.
Lee was also ordered to pay $800 in fines and fees.
