Serving Whitman County since 1877
We really caught a quick freeze this year and my maple trees show it. Is this what is called an “Indian Summer”? I always thought that meant more warm weather. With the season has certainly come a more significant flu season. There is much to read about it in the media – if you have specific questions, particularly the H1N1 Swine Flu, be sure to contact the Public Health Department, your physician, or other practitioner at Whitman Medical Group.
I also wanted to mention surgical services available to you through a joint venture among Whitman, Pullman and Gritman Hospitals. The practice, as you may already know, is Palouse Surgeons, LLC. At the present time we have Drs. John Visger; Derrick Walker, William Vincent with Dr. Suzan Marshall to join the practice soon. These surgeons make up an excellent group providing service to all three hospitals. Together they cover a broad range of expertise.
Also, about seven months ago Denise Fowler joined WHMC as our Chief Clinical Officer. Denise is moving WHMC forward with a number of initiatives in clinical nursing, and patient safety. In addition to nursing she leads respiratory therapy, surgery, pharmacy, therapy services, social services, dietary, clinical education, laboratory, OB services, and radiology. She has brought us a wealth of experience through her prior work at SHMC and Providence Services in Spokane.
Please know that we are here for one reason only and that is to serve you, our patient, with excellence in personalized care, compassion, and respect for your needs.
