Dusty B.B. Club met last week Tuesday at the home of Li Ochs where they made more than 30 baby blankets for the free maternity clinic at Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. Hostesses were Helen and Joyce Appel. Roll call was donations of money or food to FISH. Next meeting will be Nov. 10 for the program “Weather Watch.”
Many locals attended the graveside services at the Dusty Cemetery and/or the services at the Nazarene Church in Colfax for Anna Stueckle Monday. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Stueckle, and is survived by three children and their spouses, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Terry and Delores Vogler Argast of Laguna Nigel, Calif., were visitors of Mark and Kathy Vogler from Saturday to Tuesday. After attending memorial services for Anna Stueckle, Delores and Karen Broeckel paid a visit to Berniece Krom, their former neighbor and 4H leader, at the Whitman Health and Rehab Nursing Home.
Mike and Michelle Carver, Spokane, were weekend visitors of her parents, Dale and Vicki Broeckel.
Al and Goldie Foss, Everett, were guests at her sister’s home, Gloria and Norm Erickson, from Thursday through Tuesday. The women joined others at the Onecho Bible Church to make quilts which are donated to local charities.
David Stueckle, Al Foss and Norm Erickson all attended the plowing bee at the Dave Morgan farm Saturday.
Guenter and Brigitte Scherwinski, Mountain Home, Idaho, were weekend visitors of their daughter’s family, Angela and Brian Broeckel. Ales BeDell was also home from the University of Idaho for the weekend. All attended the football game between LaCrosse-Washtucna and Touchet Friday evening. Monday, the Scherwinskis; Brian, Angela and Alex; Oscar Broeckel; Doreen Riedner and Karen Broeckel watched Graham BeDell play on the junior varsity football team vs. Colton.
Carol Kyllo, Roberta Cox and Kara Harder and her son Chase all were luncheon guests of Judy Harder Friday.
Karen Broeckel traveled to the Seattle area with her sister Patty Wieber and niece Jamie Wieber-Forrest, Spokane, last Thursday. They were luncheon guests, along with June Broeckel of Tacoma, and JoAnn Broeckel Elrod and children Lauren and Aiden Friday. That evening, Broeckel, Wieber and Wieber-Forrest were dinner guests of Kerry and Leann Ogata and children Kia and Greyson. The Elrod family, Ogata family and the three women met for breakfast Saturday morning before the women returned to their respective homes.
Blake and Carmen Heaton attended the wedding of Tommy Tribbett and Lindsey Eggen in Coeur d’Alene Saturday. The reception was at the Coeur d’Alene Resort.
