Vikings win soils contest

The Garfield-Palouse FFA team won the Oct. 7 Whitman County Soils judging contest. Left to right are Raymond Brown, soil scientist, Chad Redman, Missy Johnson, Advisor Buddy Carter, Tiona Shea, J.B. Lange and Kristin Nelson. They earned a total of 1013 points. Individually, the four juniors placed in the top ten, with Lange fifth, Redman sixth, Nelson ninth, and Shea 10th.
