Whitman Hospital has received our 3rd Quarter Press Ganey report. Just as a reminder we use Press Ganey, as do 1800 other hospitals across the country, to measure patient satisfaction with our services. We have been using this report for over 5 years to help us focus on ways to improve our services.

I would like to give you an overview of the excellent scores that, according to you our patients, were achieved by our superb staff:

Admission: 90.7 percentile

Room: 88.6 percentile

Meals: 86.3 percentile

Nurses: 93.7 percentile

Tests and Treatments: 88.6 percentile

Visitors and Family: 93.5 percentile

Physician: 91.0 percentile

Discharge: 89.1 percentile

Personal Issues: 90.5 percentile

Overall assessment: 93.9 percentile

Some more specific examples include: Nurse response to call 94th percentile; Nurse attention to personal needs 93rd percentile; pleasantness of room 98th percentile (new hospital); skill of person starting IV 88.9th percentile; physician kept you informed 91.3rd percentile; instructions for care at home 91.5th percentile; overall cheerfulness of hospital 100th percentile; staff working together to care for you 94.4th percentile; likelihood of recommending hospital 94.4th percentile; courtesy of ER staff 100th percentile; ER kept me informed about condition/treatment 87.5th percentile; skill of physical therapist 90.9th percentile and overall rating for care given 94.4th percentile.

We appreciate the excellent scores but know we have more work to do in our goal of continuous improvement and safe care. This report is reviewed by all managers for improvements and is available to our staff as well.
