Coach Ken Lindgren said he hopes some momentum will go into Friday night’s game against the undefeated Bulldogs.
“Any time you get a couple of wins in a row, you start to feel better about yourselves,” said Lindgren. “Hopefully we can give them something that they can take with them down the road.”
Friday at LC, the Nighthawks used a power running game and a quick defense to blank the Patriots.
Zack St. John opened the scoring with a one-yard plunge in the first quarter. He went on to add two more scores, including a 60-yard scamper in the third quarter. St. John finished the game with 188 yards.
Scott Eberle added 112 yards rushing, including a 12-yard scoring strike in the second quarter.
Lindgren said the young Patriots showed their inexperience against the TOR defense with a run of turnovers.
He credited his reserves, who came in for mop-up duty in the second half, for keeping LC off the scoreboard.
