Earns American FFA degree

Kayla Hutton, member of the Tekoa FFA chapter, received the American FFA Degree at the 82nd National FFA Convention in Indianapolis on Saturday, Oct. 24. It is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization.

The award recognizes Hutton’s leadership abilities and outstanding achievements in agricultural business, production, processing and service programs. Less than one percent of FFA members advance through their local chapter and State FFA degree programs to earn this national degree.

The daughter of Dan and Kathy Hutton of Tekoa, Hutton is currently a sophomore at Washington State University.

Kayla received a gold American FFA Degree key and a certificate to commemorate the achievement. She is the first recipient of the American degree from Tekoa, where her dad is the Agriculture instructor.
