Saturday morning’s food bag collection weighed in at 1,938 pounds at the FISH food bank in the St. Patrick’s Parish Hall. Donations arriving too late to be weighed were estimated to have put the food drive over the 2,000-pound mark.
The food donation total was down about 800 pounds from last year, but near the average haul for the food drive.
For their collection efforts, the scouts were rewarded with cups of hot cocoa. Later, some of the scouts took advantage of snow leftover from Friday night’s storm for a good old-fashioned snowball fight.
