Potluck dinner set at Lamont

The monthly potluck will be at the Lamont Community Center Sunday, Dec. 6, at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Debbie and Nick Siemans were weekend guests at the home of Chet and Ardis Swift of Lamont. They are missionaries in Germany working with Trans World Radio. They are in the States visiting churches, friends and relatives and will return to Germany Dec. 18. Debbie is the daughter of Richard and Zelma Steward. Richard grew up in the Lamont area and graduated from Lamont High School in 1944.

Jill Swannack and Linda Stanescu from Sprague drove to Spokane Sunday to see The Lion King. They enjoyed lunch at The Olive Garden.

Lamont Church had their annual Thanksgiving Festival at the Lamont Community Center last Sunday. About 50 people attended. Included in that number was a group of ten chorus students from Christian Heritage School in Edwall who sang a number of songs.

Jessie Rajala Chapin and husband, Dave, and children, Naija, Hrothgar, and Aven from Williams Lake, B. C., visited her parents, Dave and Ginny Rajala, at Airway Heights. She also provided several vocal numbers accompanying herself on the guitar. at the Festival last Sunday. Penny Rajala Dhillon and son, Javen, from Kennewick, also visited at the home of her parents and attended the church potluck.

Dan and Jean Stromberger attended the services for Dan’s nephew, Jerry Kapelke, last Saturday at the First Nazarene Church in Spokane. Jerry, age 54, was killed when the pickup he was driving hit a deer that came through the windshield and killed him instantly. He was the son of Hannah Stromberger Kapelke.

Art Swannack and son, Owen, attended the WSU-Oregon State football game in Pullman Saturday.
