Approximately 70 guests gave Kathleen Scholz best wishes last week at a party in her home to celebrate her 100th birthday. Guests enjoyed a dinner prepared by Kevin and Kathy Atwood, Diane Monson and Vicki Broeckel.
Country Bible Church loaned tables and chairs to accommodate the guests.
Relatives who were able to attend included her daughters, Claudia K. Ebling, Seattle, and Kathy S. Atwood, Westwood, Calif .; grandchildren Wendy Frieden, Bethany, Conn .; Brian Ebling, Chicago, Ill .; Kevin Atwood, Dusty, who also was the host, K. Lucy Atwood and her fiance’ Jeffrey Rosenfeld, Malibu, Calif.
Kathleen’s youngest brother Jack Ford, aged 94, called to wish her a happy 100th.
All three of Jack’s children, Patti Ford Cunningham, Auburn; Colleen Carlaw, Tacoma and Mike Ford, Bellingham, were able to attend.
Nieces and nephews from Kathleen’s Scholz relatives who attended included Ernie Scholz, Diamond; his sons Curtis and Kevin from Union Flat and Diamond; Rosemary Scholz Phillips, Coeur d’Alene; her son Kyle Harder, Dusty; Jonathan and Ginna Scholz, Steptoe.
Ginna Scholz recorded the event with her camera. The special guests of the day were Bernice Krom and Lucille Willson, both of Colfax.
Altona Wigen returned to her home at The Courtyard in Colfax Tuesday. She spent a number of weeks in the hospital and the rehab and nursing home recovering from a broken hip which she sustained Sept. 25.
Steve and Carol Moore and family attended the Colfax vs. South Bend football game at the Gonzaga Prep in Spokane Saturday. Their son David is a wide receiver and linebacker for Colfax.
Cindy Pitts flew to Phoenix Nov. 8 to help her daughter, Jennifer Hammons, with new baby Willa Caroline and to care for the baby’s brothers, Kellen and Becket. She returned home last week Tuesday.
Carol Kyllo attended the Music and Arts production of “Bye Bye Birdie!” at Ferris High School in Spokane last weekend. Her granddaughters Lexi and Lauren Haas, daughters of Wayne and Tami Haas, participated in the musical.
Suzy McNeilly visited her daughter Christina Cain, son-in-law Jayson, who is a Marine Corps Recruiter, and her grandson Mason Nicholas in New Jersey Nov. 14 - 22. She helped Mason celebrate his first birthday Nov. 16.
