Colfax hoopsters, wrestlers slated to launch year

Colfax wrestlers have a home show booked next Tuesday, Dec. 8, with Wilbur-Creston-Keller on the home mats. The matchup will be one of four home mat appearances set for the team during the season.

Colfax wrestlers will open their season tonight, Thursday, at the Lakeside tournament and are scheduled to compete at the Davenport tournament Saturday.

Colfax basketball marked an official launch Monday when Colton and Lakeside girls teams arrived for a pre-season jamboree session. The teams matched up in jayvee and varsity rounds which went for 10 minutes each.

Actual start of the Colfax hoop seasons has been set for Dec. 15. That launch will be late, but it also means teams won’t have to rebook games which would have been scratched because of the football playoffs.

The Dec. 15 hoop start will be against Tekoa/Oakesdale Nighthawks teams at Oakesdale. The `hawks will host Colfax after three home games, Potlatch at Tekoa Saturday, Garfield/Palouse at Oakesdale Dec. 11, and Asotin at Oakesdale Dec. 12.
