More than 50 excited children from ages three weeks to 13 years came to visit and have their picture taken with Santa Saturday. The free pictures have been printed and are available at the Bank of Whitman.
Jeannette Ping donated an additional four stuffed animals to be given out at the drawing. Ainsley Imler, granddaughter of Robbie and Jill Pierson, won the girl stocking and Wyatt Schwartz, son of Mike and Tami Schwartz, won the stocking filled with boy things. Tanner Fleming, son of Chad and Wendy Fleming, won a stuffed teddy bear, and Emma Martin, daughter of Jesse and Susan Martin, won a large butterfly, both donated by Jeanette. Tim Reeves and Kaelea Reeves, grandchildren of Thomas Reeves, won a monkey and bear also donated by Jeanette. Kaelea’s bear prize was possibly bigger than she, and she needed help from big brother to carry it.
Pastime Tavern sponsored a pool tournament Saturday and the duo of Don Maier and Alice Hopkins topped 14 teams. The Pastime’s December dinner will be Dec. 16 and will feature shrimp fettuccini.
Kira Andrus and Doug Mitchell were married in a small family ceremony in Spokane this last Saturday, Dec. 5.
Her parents are Jeff and Cindy Andrus from LaCrosse, and he is the son of the late Jim and Mona Mitchell.
Doug’s brother Scott was his best man and Kira’s mom Cindy was matron of honor.
Also in attendance on Kira’s side was Shane and Lorena Andrus from Pullman; Frank, Jamie sons, Kelby and Carson Andrus from Ephrata, and Kira’s grandmother, Donna Andrus from LaCrosse.
Guests from Doug’s side included his brother and family, Scott, Heidi, and sons, J.D and Michael along with Craig and Sharon Parrish, long time friends of the Andrus family Craig officiated the ceremony.
The couple’s home will be in Spokane.
LaCrosse Library is conducting a book sale. They have a wide range of types and topics. All of the proceeds help fund our children’s programs at LaCrosse.
Kids between the ages of kindergarten and fifth grade are invited to come to Second Monday Club Dec. 14 at 3:15 p.m. As always a craft and fun games are planned. The next scheduled Second Monday Club will be Jan. 11.
Pre-school children, parents and caregivers are invited to join in the Storytime fun with crafts and treats. at LaCrosse Library next Thursday Dec. 17, at 10:30 a.m. It will be the last program before Christmas Holiday. Storytime will resume again Jan. 7, 2010.
