Soldier sentenced to 90 days

Daylan Scott Nekula, 23, a soldier at Fort Lewis, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and placed on 12 months of community supervision after pleading guilty Dec. 4 in superior court to an amended charge of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. The conviction dates back to October of 2008 when deputies investigated a report that a mother had discovered her nine-year-old daughter had been sending nude photos of herself via cell phone to the suspect.

Nekula was originally charged with sexual exploitation of a minor. He was also ordered to pay $800 in fines and fees.
