Tekoa firemen bring new fire truck back

Barreling down the Nebraska highway in a 38-foot red fire truck, the three men from Tekoa were on a mission - get this newly purchased truck back to Tekoa by Dec. 8.

The conversation was lively and Donavan Chase, Lee Zimmerman and Duane Groom already had a pocket of amusing adventures under their belt since they hit the road Dec. 3.

Then the brand new $260,000 truck began to slow down on the highway, losing power, until they were stopped on the side of the road.

The unforgiving Nebraska cold had frozen their fuel lines. They were stranded.
