Wildcats, Eagles, Nighthawks collect big wins in SE-North

Colton, St. John/Endicott, Asotin and Tekoa/Oakesdale booked big wins Friday in SE-North for a full round of league action. Rosalia’s girls bowed to Asotin in the Friday league round, but came back for big wins Saturday and Tuesday.

Colton Coach Clark Vining’s defending 1B champs hammered LaCrosse/Washtucna 85-21 in the Friday round with Kelsey Moser hitting 20 and Haley Moser hitting 15. Gladys Martinez led the T-cats with 6 against a torrid Wildcat defense which shut out LW in the first quarter.

SJE hammered Pomeroy 57-29 in the league round with Kelly Van Lith dropping in 18.

An SJE-Colton clash, a rematch of the 1B title game last April in Yakima, was called off Tuesday in the wake of the Glen Voshell tragedy and re-booked for Feb. 2.

Tekoa/Oakesdale Friday dropped the Viking girls 39-27 in the Oakesdale gym with Desiree Chappell putting down 22 points.

Saturday, LaCrosse/Washtucna bounced back for a 43-35 win at Pomeroy with Kristen Stubbs hitting 17 and Martinez booking 15. The Pirates were led by 15 from ex-Tigercat Haylee Koller.

Asotin Saturday moved to 2-0 by fighting off the Nighthawks in the Oakesdale gym 67-45. Alexandra Overton led the `hawks with 19, including the lone three-pointer for the hosts.

Rosalia girls hammered Tri-Cities Prep 65-22 with Samantha Wilson hitting 13 and Briann and Katelyn Maley each hitting 9. The Spartans held TCP to just five points in the first half.

St. John/Endicott hammered Touchet 74-29 with Kelly Van Lith putting up 20 and Trisha Luft 10.

Tuesday, Rosalia swamped Garfield/Palouse 50-12 in the lone SE matchup with Katelyn Maley hitting 15 and Briann Maley 13.

Lind/Ritzville dropped the LW Tigercats 54-39 at Lind. Martinez hit 21 for the T-cats in the non-leaguer.
