Colton runs mark to 5-0; Nighthawks stack 2 wins

Colton girls ran their hoop record to 5-0 with a 53-39 win over Genesee in a non-leaguer Tuesday as teams wrapped up the pre-Christmas run. The Wildcats, who hit a power win over Pomeroy Friday, were again led by Kelsey Moser who finished with 15.

The Wildcats Tuesday had the Genesee Bulldogs down 22-7 at the break.

Colton Friday clobbered Pomeroy 74-34 in league play.

Also Tuesday, Asotin survived a late charge for a 43-36 road win against the LaCrosse/Washtucna Tigercats. The `cats came back in the last quarter with an 11-point charge against the Panthers.

Gladys Martinez led LW with 15 points, and Della Fleming had 12. Shelby Barns had a game-high 19 for the Panthers.

Cusick edged Rosalia girls 52-48 in a makeup game at Cusick Tuesday. The two clubs battled all the way in the non-leaguer with Briann Maley putting up 15 and Katelyn Maley hitting 16.

Rosalia Saturday cooked a 71-57 win over Touchet in a crossover game at Touchet. The Spartans led for the duration with Briann Maley putting down 21 and Katelyn Maley 18. Zoe Weaver led Touchet with 14.

Saturday, Tekoa/ Oakesdale booked the second of two SE-North weekend wins with a 34-32 trip of Pomeroy on a 14-point charge in the last quarter. Alexandra Overton led the `hawks with 15. Pomeroy had a 10-point lead at the break but couldn’t stop the `hawk charge.

Friday, the `hawks fought off the LW Tigercats in a defensive battle, 32-29 at Tekoa with Overton hitting 14 and Darcie Chappell 11.

Also Friday, Asotin dropped Garfield/Palouse 44-20 with Barnes dropping 22 points at Garfield. Kaycie Adair hit 8 points to top the Vikings.
