Rosalia boys take classic with big win over Asotin

Rosalia boys Tuesday night defeated Asotin 57-40 to win their own Spartan Classic. The Spartans, who hammered Coeur d’Alene Charter school in the opening round Monday moved their season strong to 10-0 with the win over the Panthers.

Led by 17 from Jim Maley, the Spartans posted a 25-21 lead at the half and then dominated the Panthers in the last two quarte54s.

Liberty’s girls, who dropped Asotin in Monday’s action, defeated Rosalia 47-37 Tuesday to take the girls side of the Spartan classic. Kelly Hennessey hit 17 to lead the Lancers. She hit four three pointers.

The Spartan girls moved into the title round after defeating Coeur d’Alene Charter school in the first round Monday.

Asotin hammered the Coeur d’Alene team 65-40 in the girls consolation round Tuesday with Shelby Barnes hitting a tourney high 29 points.

Rosalia teams will return to league play Tuesday when they travel to Garfield Tuesday to play the Garfield/Palouse Vikings.
