Humane Society sets third annual benefit

Whitman County Humane Society’s third-annual fund-raiser, Fur Ball and Yappy Hour, will be Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010. This year’s theme is “Puppy (and Kitty) Love.”

Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Schweitzer Event Center. Pullman Mayor Glenn Johnson will again be emcee along with auctioneer Orvil Sears. The event will feature a parade of adoptable pets, celebrity servers, dinner catered by Memorable Events and lots of auction items.

Last year, more than 360 community supporters attended the benefit which netted more than $38,000 through the generosity of supporters who bid on more than 100 auction items donated by individuals and businesses. All of the proceeds are now being used to provide medical treatment and daily care for all the animals in the shelter.
