Fish & Wildlife eyes water trail for northwest county lakes

Washington state is considering an aquatic corridor in Rock Creek to connect Rock Lake, Bonnie Lake and Chapman Lake.

Kevin Robinette, regional wildlife program manager for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, said his agency is putting together a proposal to get funding to create the water trail. He briefed county commissioners on the proposal at their Monday meeting.

“It’s a very popular area for people who can get access,” said Robinette. “It’s a beautiful area that is in about as pristine condition as we ever see.”
