A cake decorating class is being offered on Sunday, Feb. 28, from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Colfax Branch of Whitman County Library. The class is designed for teens and adults with a fee of $10. Register at http://www.whitco.lib.wa.us, by email at [email protected] .

Occupational Resource Connection classes (WORC) are being scheduled throughout Whitman County. For a listing of topics, dates and locations visit the Events Calendar online or call the library.

The Friends of the Library meet Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. at Two Old Gals. Community members are encouraged to attend.

A number of IRS forms are now available in the Colfax Branch of Whitman County Library, including a notebook of reproducible forms. Staff in any of the district’s fourteen locations can also assist you in printing forms from the IRS website. A link to the IRS site can be on the library website.

The Colfax Gazette from 1900-1912 is now online thanks to the work of the Washington State Library. To access these Gazettes, visit the library’s website and choose “library wiki” near the bottom of the page.

Third Thursday Club’s “Rockin Robots,” for youth grades 1-4, is on February 18 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Children can enjoy games, craft, stories, and a snack.

Introduce young children to books and reading at our Thursday Storytimes.

Also offered by the library is The Kids’ Fun & Healthy Cookbook by Nicola Graimes.

This collection encourages kids to consider what they eat and how it affects their bodies, without preaching.

Interpretations of old classics, as well as new recipes destined to become classic help turn eating into a delicious treat.

Food For Fines continues in all fourteen branches of Whitman County Library. During February, residents can exchange up to $10 worth of non-perishable food items for up to $10 in outstanding library fines.

All food donations stay within the community where they are donated.
