LaCrosse Business Association will meet March 3 to begin planning for this year’s Farmers Festival which will be Saturday, June 19.
The LaCrosse Chapter of National Honor Society plans another Meals to Go on Monday, March 8. The menu will be chicken alfredo, green salad, garlic toast, peaches and a cookie. Residents interested in having lunch delivered March 8 are asked to contact the school or any National Honor Society member.
Big congratulations to Justin Aldrich who placed fourth Saturday in the B division of the State Mat Classic Wrestling Tournament. A senior at LaCrosse High School, Justin is the son of Milt Aldrich and Laurel Aldrich.
Jeff and Cindy Andrus recently returned from a week on the Island of Hawaii. They were guests of college friends Mike and Gwen Utely.
More than 40 youngsters have been participating in the Junior Tigercats on Saturday mornings the past two months. The group was organized by Kim Berquist and Jamie Nelson. The children practiced their basketball skills at centers run by community volunteers. The final practice was Saturday morning and the kids were rewarded with basketball dog tags and doughnuts.
Also on Saturday the 3-4 grade boys played Liberty and lost. The team was coached by Mike Jones and Kim Berquist and the team consisted of Caleb Berquist, Wayne Whinery, Braden Miller, Tim Reeves, Blake Jones, Nicolas Candelario and Leighton Dorman. The 6-7 girls also played Liberty on Saturday and were victorious. Coached by Leonard Aune the team consisted of Ashtyn Aune, Madison Harder, Jessica Guske, Jazlynn Webb, Brittany Gordon and Brooklyn Hostetler.
Sunday the 1-3 boys traveled to Pomeroy and lost. Trey Fleming, Gunnar Aune, Ty Harder, Austin Jones, Jett Nelson, Josh Crouse, Blake Jones, Nicolas Candelario, and Tim Reeves made up the team coached by Jeff Nelson. The 1-4 girls also played Pomeroy and won. The team included Sydney Berquist, Lauren Stubbs, Alynn Harder, Autumn Meyes, Logan Stanley, Tedi Sisk and Jazmin Gordon. The girls were coached by Mish Stanley, Gladys Martinez and Kirsten Stubbs. 4-6 boys finished out the afternoon against Pomeroy and lost. Nick Fleming, Weston Miller, Weston Whinery, Terrell Webb, Tyler Reeves, Caleb Berquist, Leighton Dorman, Wayne Whinery and Braden Miller were coached by Darrin Fleming.
