NOTICE OF HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Whitman County Commissioners’ Chambers, Courthouse, Colfax, Washington, for the purpose of receiving public comments on proposed revisions to Whitman County Code, Chapter 8.05 Food Service.

Any person may attend the hearing to speak for or against the proposed revision.

Handicapped accommodations are available at the East entrance to the Courthouse. Arrangements will be made to accommodate questions and provide responses to non-English speaking residents. Upon receiving 24 hours’ advance notice, the County will make arrangements to reasonably accommodate the needs of special groups of citizens, including those who are physically disabled or otherwise impaired. NOTICE OF CALL FOR BIDS

ROOF SYSTEM

SEALED BIDS will be received by the Board of County Commissioners of Whitman County, State of Washington, at its office in the Whitman County Courthouse, Colfax, Washington, until 10:30 a.m. Pacific Daylight Savings Time, Monday, March 29, 2010, at which time they will be opened and publicly read.

EACH BID shall be separately sealed in an envelope addressed to the Board of County Commissioners with the name of the bidder written plainly on the outside of the envelope.

All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the total bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into the contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond, this proposal deposit shall be forfeited to Whitman County.

NOTICE OF A CONDITIONAL USE HEARING AND A DETERMINATION OF NONSIGNIFICANCE (DNS)

The public is notified of a hearing requested by DeAtley Crushing Company before the Board of Adjustment on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 7:00 PM in the Public Service Building, 1st floor auditorium, N. 310 Main St., Colfax, Washington.

Whitman County Planning issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter 197-11 WAC) for the following project:

DeAtley Crushing Company is proposing to operate a temporary, portable asphalt batch plant at the Redinger (Entel) Quarry located NW of Colton, approximately 1/2 mile south of the intersection of N. Meyer Road and SR 195, on the west side of SR 195, in the NW 1/4 of the SE of Section 20, Township 13 N., Range 45 E., W.M., Whitman County, Washington.

After review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with us, the Planning Office has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment.

Persons requiring ADA accommodation should advise us of that need.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Malden Town Council at the Town Hall, W. 204 Moreland, Malden, Washington, beginning at 7:00 p.m., PST, April 14, 2010.

The purpose of the public meeting is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from low- and moderate-income persons and persons residing in the Town of Malden area.

Up to $35,000 may be available to the Town of Malden to fund a planning project that principally benefits low- and moderate-income persons.

The draft application for the Malden Small Water System Management Program proposal will be available for review at the Malden Town Clerk’s Office. Comments may also be submitted in writing to the Town of Malden, P.O. Box 248, Malden, WA, 99149. Written comments must be received by the Town Clerk before 3:30 p.m. on April 14, 2010.

The City of Tekoa, Washington (pursuant to Chapter 61, Laws of 1981) is inviting statements of qualifications and performance information from individuals or firms interested in providing professional engineering and land surveying services for the 2010 calendar year in conjunction with sponsored projects. Potential prospects requiring engineering services include airfield, sewer, water, and street planning (including WSDOT, TIB, CDBG, USDA RD and PWTF projects), design and construction management, contract administration on-call consulting, and grant applications.

Qualification and performance statements will be reviewed, placed on file for the 2010 calendar year, and will be used as the source from which to select one or more qualified firms from whom a detailed proposal will be requested for any specific project. Those firms who have statements on file for the 2009 calendar year should only respond with a request for their statement to be renewed for 2010 along with any pertinent amendments to their statement.

Minority- and women-owned firms are encouraged to submit statements of qualifications.
