Bond set at $250,000 for Noble

A $250,000 bond for pre-trial release was set for Daniel A. Noble, the Moscow resident who is charged with hitting two people with a car on the WSU campus Dec. 7. The bond was set after the court received an evaluation of Noble from Eastern State Hospital.

The court ruled the mental examination report on the suspect said he could be considered dangerous unless kept in confinement. The court order allowed for Noble to be furloughed in the direct custody of his wife to undergo treatments.

A Jan. 14 court order stayed prosecution of Noble for 90 days for competency restoration and treatment with anti-psychotic and/or psychotropic medications.

Noble has been charged with two counts each of vehicular assault and hit and run involving the two students on the campus. Police were called to Stadium Way early Dec. 7 by a report of an erratic driver. They allege two people were struck by a car driven by Noble who had to be subdued once he was apprehended on campus.

Moscow Attorney Mark Moorer entered pleas of not guilty on behalf of the suspect Jan. 31.
