Pastor’s corner-Forgiveness

As Christ was hanging on the cross, he looked over the crowd and spoke this prayer. “Father forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34) Jesus taught His disciples how to pray when He gave them what we call the “Lord’s Prayer.” He taught them to pray (Matthew 6:12) “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Forgiveness is a basic principle of human life. It is vital to strong, wholesome relationships.

God is willing to forgive us when we are sorry for our sins and confess our sins to Him. He in turn expects us to extend forgiveness to people in our lives. Forgiveness is an act of gracious love. Forgiveness brings freedom of conscience and is a bridge builder, a catalyst for peace. Make it a practice to be a peace maker by using this great quality from God, forgiveness.
