Spartans wrap hoop season

Spartan basketball players wrapped up the season with a season-end potluck March 15 in the gym.

Coach Rob Hudkins presented awards for the boys.

Jim Maley was named most valuable player and Zach St. John was named most inspirational for the boys team. Ty Mundt was named most improved.

Maley, Nathan Richards and Zach St. John were recognized for being on the SE all-league team. Richards and Maley were named to the all state tourney second team.

John Kuhn was named honorable mention in the district nine all league team.

Girls Coach Dave St. John recognized Katelyn and Briann Maley for their selection for the all-district team. Samantha Wilson was named to the honorable mention team.

Hailee Danilson was named most improved and Wilson was named for the inspirational and captain’s awards. Katelyn Maley was named top defender.

Seniors wrapping up their hoop campaigns are Katelyn Maley and Samantha Wilson for the Spartan girls and Jim Maley, John Kuhn, and Zach St. John for the boys team.

Cheerleader advisor Dorinda Merritt recognized the contribution of cheerleaders Lucy Irish, Kelsey Lindhag, Josie Daniels, Lynsey Eberle and Emilee Danilson.
