The Rosalia GEAR UP students made campus visits to Central Washington State University, St. Martin’s University and Evergreen State College during a three day trip.
They also had appointments with the 9th District Reps. Joe Schmick and Rep. Susan Fagan and met with 9th District Sen. Mark Schoesler in the Senate Republican Caucus Room. The group went to the floor of the House of Representatives for a photo,
A tour of the capital campus was highlighted by touring the Governor’s Mansion, the Law Library, State Supreme Court and all the war memorials were included.
In Seattle the group spent time at the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum.
The Rosalia Junior Class is a cohort group for Gaining Early Awareness Regarding Undergraduate Programs, a state program to help prepare students for college. This is the third year Rosalia has received this grant.
Rosalia junior and sophomore classes attended the Career Exploration Day in Spokane. The event was sponsored by Greater Spokane Incorporated. Fifty businesses and education programs participated. Attending this event was also part of the GEAR UP program to help prepare students for their career of choice.
