Reserve deputy crashes patrol car

Reserve Whitman County Deputy Phil Herman of Colfax sustained minor injuries when he lost control of a patrol car and crashed on the Parvin Road about 1:05 a.m. Saturday morning. He was taken by ambulance to Whitman Hospital.

According to Undersheriff Ron Rockness, Herman was driving north on 195 and observed an oncoming vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. He turned around and attempted to catch up to the speeding vehicle which turned onto the Parvin Road.
