Tigercats book two wins, Vikings split with Patriots

LaCrosse/Washtucna’s softball team took two wins Tuesday on the road at Pomeroy, 15-11 and 14-11. Taylor Burke held the Pirtes to six hits in the first game while the T-Cat offense n rattled off 11 hits.

Catcher Gladys Martinez doubled for the lone extra-base hit.

Haylee Koller pitched for the Pirates in front of a 16-error defense.

In the second game, LW booked nine runs in the first three innings and fought off a Pirate charge over the last three innings.

Kristen Stubbs pitched the win for the Tigercats and Kindsey Bott pitched for the Pirates who racked up another seven error. .

Each side had 12 hits. Martinez had three hits in the second game and Stubbs rapped a double.

At Richland, Garfield/Palouse nipped the Patriots 4-3 in the first game with Emily Witthuhn throwing a four hitter.

The Vikings rolled up 11 hits with Emily Witthuhn getting three with two doubles. Erin Witthuhn also tagged at double.

In the second game, the Patriot broke to a 4-0 lead after two innings on the way to a 7-3 win. The Vikings didn’t score until the sxith inning.

Emily Witthuhn also pitched the second game. Erin Witthuhn doubled and tripled in the second game, and Terrie Taylor added a triple.

Colton booked an 11-3 non-leaguer at Orofino Tuesday with a 10-hit attack.

Kelsey Moser held Orofino to seven hits in taking the win.

Colton rolled out 10 hits with Kelsey Moser, Haley Moser and Megan Grassl each tagging two hits. Haley Moser, Megan Heitstuman and Payton Meyer doublef.

Dayton Saturday topped Tekoa/Oakesdale twice, 8-7 and 13-4. The Buklldogs took one-run win in the first game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Briann Maley had two doubles, and Kiah Madison had one double to top the 14-hit Nighthawk attack.

In the second game, Dayton hammered 16 hits for a 13-4 win.
