Nelson, Pfaff top Garfield/Palouse Class of 2010

Rebecca Lynn Nelson

Rebecca Lynn Nelson, daughter of Mark and Debra Nelson, is 2010 valedictorian for Garfield/Palouse High School with a 4.0 grade point average.

Rebecca has held the offices of Class President, ASB Treasurer, Band President, Class Secretary, Knowledge Bowl Team Captain and FCCLA Chapter President.

Academic Honors include, 8th Grade Culminating Project published by Society for American Archaeology (website), Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference ambassador, National Honor Society.

She has been active in Jazz Band, National FFA, Math Team, Spanish Club, Drama, Knowledge Bowl, Engineering Design Team, Big Viking Program, Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Committee, Concert Band, Pep Band, Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.

She had been a University of Idaho Holiday Concert participant and Palouse Royalty Queen.

Rebecca plans to attend Whitworth University in Spokane and major in elementary special education, with a minor in dance or music.

Garret Pfaff

Garret Stanley Pfaff, son of David and April Pfaff, is the 2010 salutatorian with a 3.984 grade point average. Offices held include Class President, ASB President, FFA Chapter President, FFA Chapter Vice President, FFA Chapter Junior Vice President, Engineering Team Mechanics Presenter and Basketball Captain. Academic Honors received include NHS, Scholar Athlete, High Honor Roll, Garret has been active in, FFA, Basketball, Baseball, Engineering and Design Team and Swim Team. His hobbies include hunting, farming, boating, swimming, building, skiing, snowboarding, camping. After graduation he plans to attend Washington State University to study Mechanical Engineering.
