Port eyes sale of former office

Port of Whitman commissioners Monday approved hiring of Gem Valley Appraisal Service, Moscow, to determine the value of the former port building on west Island Street in Colfax. The building had been leased to the late Ronald Webster for his law office. The lease was negotiated prior to the purchase of the Webster law office on Mill Street by the Port three years ago.

Colfax attorney Teresa Keene, who had also practiced out of the Island Street office, has moved to Spring Street.

The Island Street office building originally was part of the Potlatch Lumber Co. which was located on the present site of Rosauers. It was moved to Island to serve as the port office.
