Nita Polda, Pat Peterson, Don and Sherrill Nelson, Bonnie Swannack, Janet Bowman, Dave and Leslie Swannack, Shawn Wright, Howdy Smith, Dave and Ginny Rajala, all worked at the eastbound rest area of I-90 for two days last weekend. The money they raise is for the Lamont Community building fund.
Lamont Community potluck was Sunday in the Community Building. Those in attendance were Earl Swift, Dave and Ginny Rajala, Julie McDaniel, Denny and Linda O’Keefe, and Allen and Diane Cook. Bill Bowen brought his mother, Charlotte Bowen and Lorraine Shawgo, St. John, later in the afternoon for a visit.
Friday, Allen and Diane Cook, drove to the home of their daughter, Sandi Miller, at Kahlotus, for an overnight visit. Joining them were granddaughter, Ashley, and husband, Rob Sweigert and son, Robbie, Puyallup.
The Sweigerts drove to Moscow to attend the graduation of a family friend. The Cooks returned home Saturday afternoon. The Sweigerts returned to the west side of the state Sunday.
Art and Jill Swannack hosted a gathering for Rep. Joe Schmick at their home Saturday afternoon. He answered a lot of questions about state government including taxes, schools and budget during the two-hour session.
Dan and Jean Stromberger drove to Edwall Friday evening to the Performance of The Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert & Sullivan, and performed by the students of Christian Heritage School. Earl Swift attended the play Saturday night. The play was directed by Lynn and Knute Hernas of Davenport.
Betty Stone and her daughters, Debbie Gaffney, Carolyn Behrens and Patty Ethredge, drove to Walla Walla Friday to visit relatives and sightsee. They returned home Sunday evening.
Kathy Shields’ sister, Elaine Nave and her daughter, Ann Sondergard, both from Longmont, Colo., spent two days last week with Kathy in Lamont. On Tuesday evening, May 11, the Shields family all met at the Woodland at Northern Quest for dinner and to visit with Elaine and Ann and celebrate Ed Shields’ birthday.
Bill and Stella Melville met Stellas niece, Colleen Williams of Kent, at Klink’s on Williams Lake for lunch Saturday.
Bill and Bonnie Swannack, Janet Bowman and Tom and Holly Swannack, drove to Tekoa Sunday for the PRRA Rodeo. They watched Tommi Swannack win the goat tying and barrel racing in the junior girls division.
