Serving Whitman County since 1877
Sourdough Slim, the yodeling, joke-cracking, guitar-picking western entertainer, will bring his show to the Empire Theatre in Tekoa next Friday, May 28, at 7 p.m. His one-man “entertainment extravaganza” combines humor, sight gags, old time cowboy songs, and the unique character of Sourdough, who would fit right in with a 1920s traveling vaudeville show. His music and antics have entertained audiences from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to virtually every Western festival and cowboy gathering in the country. This will be his third appearance at the Empire, the last was in 2007.
Born Rick Crowder, he spent much of his childhood on a cattle ranch in the Sierra foothills of California, but his interest and proficiency in music took him on the road with a series of western bands until he found his true calling as a solo performer as Sourdough Slim.
Admission price will be adults $10; students $5; 12 & under free.
