Colfax church to see addition

Notice of plans to construct an addition to the Assembly of God Church has been received at city hall. The 2,200 square foot addition, with a basement, has been planned for the northwest corner of the present building. The additional space will be used for an enlarged sanctuary, two offices and classroom space.

The church has hired Renstrom Homes, Inc., Pullman, to build the addition.

The present church was built along Hillcrest Drive under a conditional use permit in a residential zone. A hearing has been scheduled for June 16 by the Colfax Board of Adjustment on a request to modify the permit to allow for the addition to the building.

The application submitted by Ken Renstrom said the addition on the northwest corner will not alter the appearance of the present church from the street side.
