Serving Whitman County since 1877
Summer Reading starts June 14 at the Colton Library and will run six Mondays in a row with sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m. This year’s theme is Make a Splash – Read! Librarian Holly Meyer plans to explore a different water theme. Pirates, fish, boats, sharks and water birds are some of the topics. Sign-up is currently underway at the library.
The adult and teen summer reading program will run through August. Participants must read three books and write a short review about each one.
All qualifiers will receive a gift certificate to the Uniontown Mini Mart. In addition, adults will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Safeway, and teens will be entered into a drawing for a $25 iTunes gift card.
Maggie Webber was Colton High School’s representative to the Whitman County Library’s Teen Advisory Board during the last school year. She was recently chosen to receive a scholarship through the library for her service.
