Harder, Vorderbrueggen lead Colfax class

Heather Harder, left, and Allison Vorderbrueggen were named valedictorian and salutatorian of the Colfax High School class of 2010.

They received their medals at the start of Saturday’s commencement in the CHS gym.

The daughter of Dan and Tammie Harder, Heather earned a 4.0 grade average during her four years of high school.

She served as class president and FFA vice president.

She placed third in the national FFA creed contest and the job interview contest.

She also won the 2009 Colfax Junior Miss competition.

Heather plans to study communications at Elon University in North Carolina.

The daughter of Albert and Shala Vorderbrueggen, Allison earned a 3.98 grade average during her four years at Colfax High.

She served as FFA secretary, played piano in the CHS jazz band and was a cheerleader for football and basketball.

She was also first runner-up in the 2009 Colfax Junior Miss competition.

Allison and Heather were co-presidents of the Colfax National Honor Society chapter.

Allison plans to major in health sciences at Whitworth University in Spokane.
